Nöropsikolojinin tarihsel gelişimi

Abstract

Mevcut çalışma, psikolojinin doğa bilimlerine en yakın alt alanlarından biri olan nöropsikoloji disiplininin tarihsel gelişimini özetlemektedir. Mevcut çalışmada, nöroloji ve psikoloji kelimelerinin tarihçesinden, bu kelimelere yüklenen farklı anlamlardan, nöropsikoloji teriminin ortaya çıkışından, nöropsikolojinin kısa tarihinden ve beyin ile davranış arasındaki ilişkiyi anlama çabalarından bahsedilmektedir. Ayrıca, kalp-beyin ikilemi ve zihin-beden ikilemi gibi felsefi sorunlar, beynin rolüne dair geçmişteki yanlış anlayışlar ve beynin işlevlerini belirleme çabaları ele alınmaktadır. Mevcut çalışmada, Descartes'ın dualizm görüşünden başlayarak, beyin lezyonlarının etkilerini belirleme çabalarına kadar bir dizi önemli gelişme ve düşünce akışı izlenmektedir.The current study summarizes the historical development of the discipline of neuropsychology, one of the subfields of psychology closest to the natural sciences. In the current study, the history of the words neurology and psychology, the different meanings attributed to these words, the emergence of the term neuropsychology, the brief history of neuropsychology and efforts to understand the relationship between the brain and behavior are mentioned. Additionally, philosophical issues such as the heart-brain dilemma and the mind-body dilemma, past misconceptions about the role of the brain, and efforts to determine the functions of the brain are discussed. The current study traces a number of important developments and streams of thought, starting from Descartes' view of dualism to efforts to determine the effects of brain lesions.
