Kılıç, kalem, baton

Abstract

Jeopolitiği ve jeostratejiyi değiştiren kılıç, bir zamanlar Gordion'un düğümünü keserken, silahların gücü nereye evrilirse evrilsin, diplomasinin keskin kalemleri dünyayı şekillendirmeye devam etmektedir. Güç mücadelesinde mahir olan muktedirler, gücün idamesinde diplomasinin her veçhesini kullanırlar ve yeri geldiğinde uzun ve yıpratıcı bir soğuk savaşı veya yıkıcı etkileri yüksek bir sıcak savaşı tercih ederler. Savaş sanatı, tıpkı çelik üretiminde demir cevherine uygulanan ısısal işlem gibi muktedirlerin ruhunda sert, kırılgan ya da esnek bir yapıya dönüşmektedir. Bu çalışmada, özellikle Kanuni Sultan Süleyman'dan, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk'e kadar olan dönemde Osmanlı Padişahlarının musiki ile olan ilişkileri ve sonrasında kurulan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti'nin ilk yıllarında sürdürülen reformların tesisinde müziğin estetik rolü incelenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında kalitatif araştırma yöntemleri kullanılmış, yumuşak gücün bir aracı olan batonun savaş sanatı ve diplomasi üzerindeki etkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak; mehter takımından, bandoya olan dönüşüm süreci dikkate alındığında diplomaside batonun da etkili bir araç olduğu kanaatine varılmıştır.

While the sword that changed geopolitics and geostrategy once cut the Gordian knot, no matter where the power of weapons evolves, the sharp pens of diplomacy continue to shape the world. Those in power who are skilled in the power struggle use every aspect of diplomacy to maintain power and, when necessary, prefer a long and exhausting cold war or a hot war with high destructive effects. The art of war transforms into a hard, fragile, or flexible structure in the souls of the powerful, just like the thermal treatment applied to iron ore in steel production. In this study, the relations of the Ottoman Sultans with music, especially in the period from Suleiman the Magnificent to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the aesthetic role of music in the establishment of the reforms carried out in the first years of the Republic of Turkey were examined. Qualitative research methods were used within the scope of the study, and it was aimed to evaluate the effect of the baton, a tool of soft power, on the art of war and diplomacy. In conclusion, considering the transformation from the Mehter Band to the Marching Band has been judged that the baton is an also effective tool in diplomacy.
