Beden eğitimi öğretmen adaylarının zihinsel engelli çocuklara yönelik tutumlarıyla ilgili bir ölçek geliştirme çalışması

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı, Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmenliği (BESÖ) bölümlerinde okumakta olan öğrencilerin, zihinsel engelli çocuklara yönelik tutumlarını belirlemek için bir tutum ölçeği geliştirmektir. Araştırmada “Betimsel Yöntem” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya dört farklı üniversitede BESÖ programına kayıtlı 563 öğrenci katılmıştır. Ölçeği geliştirmede ilk adım olarak ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan 15 Beden Eğitimi ve Spor Öğretmeni yapılan görüşme yöntemi ile elde edilen inanç ya da niyet ifadelerini kapsayan bir madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Maddeler gözden geçirildikten sonra beşli likert tipinde 14 olumlu 13 olumsuz olmak üzere 27 maddelik bir ölçek belirlenmiştir. Açıklayıcı faktör analizi sonucu 12 olumlu 9 olumsuz olmak üzere 21 maddelik “Zihinsel Engelli Çocuklara Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği” (ZEÇTÖ) elde edilmiştir. ZEÇTÖ’ nün beş faktörlü bir yapı sergilediği ve bu faktörlerin toplam varyansın %62,5’ini açıkladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ölçeğin tümü için hesaplanan güvenirlik katsayısı 0,859 olarak bulunmuştur. Bu araştırma sonucunda geliştirilen ZEÇTÖ geçerliliği ve güvenirliliği yüksek bir ölçek olduğu saptanmıştır.

The purpose of the current study was to develop a valid and reliable scale in order to determine effects of factors on pre-service physical education (PPE) teachers’ attitude toward students with intellectual disabilities (ID). "Descriptive Method" was used in the research. Participants were enrolled in department of physical education and sports teaching (N = 563) at four different universities in Turkey. The first step for development of scale, a item pool of belief or intention statements was constituted which derived from the interviewing with fifteen PE teachers in the regular primary school. After reviewing the item, it was created a 27- item- scale with a 5-point Likert Scale comprising 14 positive and 13 negative items. As a result of the explanatory factor analysis, “Scale of Attitude Toward Children with Intellectual Disabilities” (SATCID) was obtained with 21 items including 12 positive and 9 negative. SATCID exhibit a structure with five factor and it was concluded that these factors clarify 62.5% of the total variance. Reliability, as estimated through coefficient alpha, was 0,859 for the total scale. As a conclusion of this research, the SATCID was determined to be a scale with high validity and reliability.
