Özet

For many years, the focus of oncology research has been on genetic and immune factors associated with cancer. This has led to the identification of various genes and cells in the tumor microenvironment that contribute to the development and growth of cancer. However, recent evidence has shown that the nervous system also plays an important role in the initiation and progression of cancer. Throughout history, physicians have observed the influence of psychosocial factors on disease development, including cancer. Three distinct eras can be identified based on the scientific methods used to study the role of psychosocial factors in cancer. Schema therapy is a therapeutic approach specifically designed for individuals with persistent chronic problems. It is designed to help patients address problematic beliefs and connect their cognitive beliefs with changes in their schemas. This section discusses the definition of schema therapy, its implications for patient with cancer, and related studies.
