Doğanın mucizesi propolis’e genel bakış: Anadolu propolisi antioksidan etkisinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

Serbest oksijen radikalleri; İnsan sağlığını doğrudan etkiler. Sağlıksız hale getirdiği kişilerde yükselen sağlık harcamaları nedeniyle ekonomiyi de dolaylı olarak etkileyen bir sorundur. Son yıllarda serbest oksijen radikalerini inaktive edebilecek, kimyasal olmayan doğal kaynaklara ulaşmak için birçok araştırma yapılmaktadır. Propolis de bu kaynaklardan birisidir. Propolis bal arıları (Apis mellifera L.) tarafından bitkilerin yaprak, gövde, tomurcuk gibi farklı kısımlarından toplanan salgıların enzimler ve bal mumu gibi maddeler ile birleştirilmesi sonucunda ürettikleri reçinemsi peletlerdir. Propolisin içeriğindeki flavonoid çeşidinin 25 tanesi mucize besin bal ile aynıdır. Birçok hastalıkta doğal iyileştirici etkisi belirlenmiş Propolis alternatif tedavide değerli bir üründür. Araştırmamızda Trabzon’dan temin edilen propolisin antioksidan aktivitesi iki farklı yöntemle belirlenmiştir. DPPH ( IC50 0,502/ BHT 0,0150) yöntemiyle çok güçlü antioksidan aktivite, B-karoten (%21-BHT %100) ile de orta derecede güçlü antioksidan aktivite sahip olduğu bulunmuştur Elde edilen bulgular ve propolisin antioksidan etkisi ile ilgili literatür çalışmalarına yer verilerek, propolis, ekonomik değeri ve apiterapi konularına dikkat çekmeye çalışılmıştır.

Free oxygen radicals directly affect human health. Due to the rising healthcare costs of those who make them unhealthy, they are a problem that indirectly impacts the economy. In recent years, much research has been conducted to find non-chemical natural sources that can inactivate Free Oxygen Radicals. Propolis is one of these products. Propolis is a resinous pellet produced by honeybees (Apis mellifera L.) by combining secretions collected from various parts of plants, such as leaves, stems, and buds, with enzymes and substances such as beeswax. Twenty-five of the flavonoids found in propolis are shared with honey. Propolis is a valuable product, known for its natural healing properties against many diseases. The study determined the antioxidant activity of propolis obtained from Trabzon. It was found to be a very potent antioxidant by the DPPH (IC50 0.502/BHT 0.0150) method and moderately potent by B-carotene (21%-BHT 100%). The aim was to compare the findings with studies in the literature investigating the antioxidant effects of propolis and to draw attention to the issues of beekeeping, propolis, economic value, and apitherapy.
