Özet

Many teachers and parents state that children are not like ‘children’ any more. Having changed both intellectually and physically, they are named star children or crystal children. Most of these children are often mislabeled with psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). (Virtue, 2003) Their brain work uniquely and process the information they receive differently, and because the way they think and learn does not fit all, they cannot be successful at school. (Erden, 2011) In today’s constantly changing and digitally challenging world, teachers and parents should create and follow new paths. Regarding this matter, policies that both safeguard and empower children are developed and different strategies for new technologies and policies are identified by OECD countries. (Graafland, 2018) Considering the needs of these children, the learning and teaching process is also affected. This workshop will offer teaching tips, different strategies, and hands-on activities for these children as teachers should rethink their skills and attitudes in their journey to new horizons.
